Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives and the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office are investigating a missing person’s body being found north of Campti according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at approximately 12:45pm, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau responded to a missing person report in the 1200 block of La. Hwy 156 near Goldonna, La.

Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the wife of a Goldonna man who informed deputies that her husband had been missing several days and she wished to report him missing. Deputies spoke with the complainant, gathered information for a missing person report and learned the identity of the missing person to be Larry E. Page, 44, of Goldonna.

Other deputies recalled a suspicious vehicle complaint on Saturday evening, August 3 at approximately 6:54pm in the 400 block of Dufrene Road north of Campti where a white Ford passenger car was found abandoned on a private deer lease road with no one around the vehicle. At that time, deputies attempted to make contact with the registered owner by traveling to a residence in Goldonna where they eventually made contact with the current complainant, the wife, of Larry Page.

She went to Dufrene Road and took possession of the vehicle.

Deputies informed Mrs. Page that she could file a missing person report if she believed he was in danger. She elected not to at that time. She informed deputies that she believed that he was working in New Mexico, had received a text from him last week but at times he would go off and return days later. She also provided additional information that will be withheld for privacy reasons. After she returned home and looked around in the vehicle, she discovered his wallet and cellular phone. She contacted some of his co-workers who informed her that he had left the job which led her to concern and to report him missing. After taking the missing person report, deputies then returned to Dufrene Road where the vehicle was found abandoned on

August 3rd, in an effort to look for any clues or evidence. They also made contact with the landowner. Deputies D. Cabellero and Cpl. J. Dranguet then began canvassing the area and smelled a foul odor.

A search of the area led to the recovery of the body and other items of evidence nearby in a partially cleared wooded area approximately 50 yards off the private deer lease road.

Sheriff Stuart Wright, Chief Deputy Darrel Winder, Natchitoches Parish Coroner Steven Clanton, NPSO Criminal Investigations Detectives and Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau responded to assist, photograph and process the scene. Natchitoches Parish Coroner Steven Clanton identified the body as that of Larry E. Page, 44, of Goldonna, La. Clanton stated at this time, foul play is not suspected. The body has been sent to Shreveport for an autopsy. Temperatures this past week have been near 100 degrees.

Sheriff Stuart Wright extends his condolences to the family of Mr. Page. Although no foul play is suspected the investigation remains active and ongoing pending the autopsy.
