A traffic stop on Interstate-49 has led to the capture of a south Louisiana man wanted in two states, seizure of illegal narcotics and a loaded firearm concealed beneath a child according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.

On Friday afternoon, June 28, 2024 at approximately 4:30pm, Deputy B. Keyser assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau was patrolling on Interstate-49 south of Natchitoches near milepost #130 (southbound) when he stopped a 2019 Toyota RAV for Speeding 96 miles per hour in a posted 75 mph speed zone.

Upon coming in contact with the violator, he identified himself as “11”, then “3” leading deputies to believe criminal activity existed. A back-up unit responded to assist. Deputies continued to speak with the violator, observing a female passenger and a small child in the vehicle. Deputies observed the violator suspiciously moving around in the vehicle as if he was attempting to hide something near a child in the backseat. The violator then attempted to identify himself using a family members name, however, deputies were able to confirm that information as being false by utilizing their onboard mobile data terminal inside their patrol vehicle. Deputies arrested the violator for providing a false name.

A short while later, the violator identified himself as a 29-year-old Tremondre Robinson of Hammond, La. A NCIC Criminal History Warrants Check revealed Robinson was classified as “convicted felon” with several prior arrests and that he was wanted in Texas and Louisiana, by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for Violence against a Pregnant Woman, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for multiple counts of Burglary, and Domestic Abuse with Child Endangerment and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for Burglary.

Deputies say Robinson also informed them he had marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 50-fentanyl narcotic pills, 13-grams of suspected marijuana, and a loaded Hi-Point .9mm semi-automatic handgun with an obliterated serial number and extended magazine all concealed and hidden beneath a 6-year-old austistic child. The seized evidence will be submitted to the crime lab for narcotics analysis and identification.

As a result of the investigation.

Tremondre Robinson, 25, of Hammond, La. was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Speeding 96/75, No Drivers License, Possession of CDS Schedule I Marijuana, Possession of CDS Schedule II Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Felony, Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of Persons under the age of 17, Resisting an Officer by giving a false name, and fugitive from Dallas County, East Baton Rouge Parish and Livingston Parish, La.

Robinson remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center with detainers for Dallas, East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parish law enforcement agencies.

The female and child were released.

Deputy B. Keyser was assisted by Deputy D. Caballero in the arrest.
