(Kisatchie)-This evening at approximately 9:01pm, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle injury crash on La. Hwy 117 near the Jerry Boles Road in the Kisatchie community according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say 36-year-old Eric Citizen of Baton Rouge, La. was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban traveling southbound on La. Hwy 117 near the Jerry Boles Road, when for reasons still under investigation left the roadway on the left side traveling down an embankment striking several trees.

Citizen, and his passengers, 25-year-old Deranesha Walker of Clarksville, Texas and a 1-year-old infant were transported from the scene by EMS to Byrd Medical Center in Leesville with non-life threatening injuries.

The infant was restrained in a child passenger seat.

Master Trooper David Morvant assigned to LSP Troop-E investigated the crash assisted by NPSO Deputy Silas Axsom.

Deputies and LSP remind motorists to always wear your seat belts and properly restrain children while traveling on our highways. Being properly restrained in a motor vehicle can significantly reduce your chances of injury or death in a crash. It's the law.
