TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF MAN WANTED IN OKLAHOMA, ARREST OF OKLAHOMA WOMAN AND SEIZURE OF ILLEGAL NARCOTICS

A man and woman traveling from Oklahoma to Winnfield was arrested during a traffic stop near Natchitoches early Monday morning according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.


Shortly after midnight on August 5, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau were patrolling on La. Hwy 6 East near Grand Ecore when they stopped a 2003 Lexus for a traffic violation.


Deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as 39-year-old Constance R. Pennington, of Cushing, Oklahoma.A passenger in the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Jared W. Hollabaugh, of Cushing, Oklahoma.

Deputies say while speaking to both occupants of the vehicle, they appeared unusually nervous and gave conflicting statements.


A background check revealed both had prior narcotics arrest histories and Hollabaugh was currently wanted by Creek County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma for Felony Child Neglect.

Hollabaugh was placed under arrest without incident.


Deputies obtained permission to search the vehicle. Back-up units responded to assist. During a search of the vehicle, deputies seized 1-cellophane bag containing approximately 16.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1-cellophane bag containing approximately 2.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1-suspected LSD tab and ½ pill suspected to alprazolam. Deputies also seized three suspected alprazolam pills that Pennington had concealed on her person.


As a result:


*Constance R. Pennington, was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Illegal Possession of CDS Schedule IV Alprazolam and traffic offenses.


*Jared W. Hollabaugh, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule I LSD, Possession of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamine, Illegal Possession of CDS Schedule IV Alprazolam, 2nd or Subsequent Narcotics Offense, and Fugitive from the State of Oklahoma.


Both suspects remain in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.


Hollabaugh also awaits extradition to Oklahoma.


The seized narcotics will be submitted to the crime lab for narcotics identification.


Involved in the arrests were: Deputy Cpl. D. Halliburton, assisted by Cpl. J. Dranguet and Deputy D. Caballero.
