This morning, a local farmer contacted the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau reporting that he had located an abandoned cargo trailer in a field off of Lateral Road just south of Natchitoches according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
Detectives responded to the scene in an effort to gather the vehicle identification number and any additional evidence. A local wrecker service was contacted to impound the trailer.
As the investigation progressed, Natchitoches Police Detectives contacted the NPSO confirming the trailer recently stolen from the Martin Luther King Drive area in Natchitoches. NPD received stolen report this morning.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
