Sheriff Stuart Wright

As Sheriff of Natchitoches Parish, I have the tremendous responsibility to manage a force of 200 law enforcement professionals trained to protect the citizens, provide beneficial community based services, and to be active and involved partners in all communities in Natchitoches Parish.

I know that this office comes with many responsibilities, none of which I take for granted. We all serve at the pleasure of the citizens of this parish and strive to ensure that we are working diligently to perform our duties as prescribed by law.

Almost immediately after being sworn in as your Sheriff, we have dealt with one of the worst pandemics in history, the most destructive and severe hurricane in history, and one of the worst snow/ice storms on record. We made it through all the events by helping each other. Whether we are enforcing the law, investigating criminal activity, responding to a citizen’s call for service, or assisting a victim of a crime, we will always give you our best effort and our utmost respect and courtesy while promising to perform our duties for you with integrity. My office will strive to provide help to a family in need, guiding young teens back on the right track in life and offer understanding and compassion to any of our senior citizens who may need our assistance.

I am proud of the many accomplishments and significant enhancements we have seen at the NPSO under the direction of past sheriff, Victor Jones, Jr. I look forward to the continued growth and success of this agency under my direction. I encourage you to visit our site often and to utilize it as a resource to obtain information about the many services we offer to you, our citizens.

At the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, “working for the people” is our mission, our motto and the only way we operate. I invite you to join the NPSO by being an active citizen in your community. Please join us in the many community programs and activities we offer. There are many ways to participate at the NPSO. You can attend one of our personal safety classes in the fall; join in our neighborhood outreach meetings; volunteer with our kids at HealthFest; or just be an alert citizen who we always rely on for pertinent information about our community. Remember, we are here to serve you.

If you would like to contact me personally and confidentially about any matter my door is always open. Please call me at (318) 357-7802.

I can’t express to you enough of how much of an honor and privilege it is to serve as your sheriff.
