On Tuesday afternoon January 24th, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies who are members of the NPSO Marine Unit assisted the Cane River Waterway Commission with a sonar scan of Cane River Lake near the Tornado Strike area for any hazardous debris that could have been thrown beneath the water surface during the confirmed EF-2 tornado on Saturday evening according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies provided those findings to the lake waterway commission late this afternoon.
Cane River Lake has since been reopened.
